Krill Oil and Cholesterol
Krill oil has been found to lower bad cholesterol dramatically while increasing good cholesterol. With as many as 35% of Americans suffering some form of cardiovascular disease, these studies are very good news.
In the year 2006 Neptune Technologies reported the results of a 90 day clinical trial using Neptune krill oil. The double blind study found that the daily use of Neptune krill oil lowered bad cholesterol levels by 34 percent. During the same time period the krill oil boosted good cholesterol levels by 44 percent. These numbers are fantastic using krill oil alone.
It was also found that if krill oil was used in combination with very low dosage of Statins cholesterol levels were lowered even more. Half the study group was given 1 to 1.5 grams of krill oil and the other half was given placebos.
These scientific studies of krill oil have proven that daily use of krill oil will lower your bad cholesterol. Regular fish oil was only found to lower bad cholesterol by 4.6 percent. Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States. Increased bad cholesterol directly contributes to heart disease. Heart disease cost Americans over 250 billion dollars annually.
One would think that health insurance companies would offer krill oil to its members for free to save some of that money. Krill oil should be a part of everyone’s daily supplement intake. It literally could help save your life.
Krill oil is also much easier for your body to absorb than regular fish oil. You also do not have the problem of “fish burps” when using krill oil. This is because krill oil is absorbed quickly into our bodies.
Krill oil is much more stable and lasts longer than regular fish oil. If you have high bad cholesterol levels you should consider using krill oil immediately. Discuss krill oil with your doctor. You may have to educate your doctor on the benefits of using krill oil to treat high cholesterol.
